I was fortunate enough to find Carey Catherall of Catherall Constructions during the planning stage of a renovation/extension to my residential property in North Brisbane.
From the first meeting on site I was struck by Carey’s enthusiasm for renovation and intelligence for problem solving. This was displayed through his ability to listen and interpret my ideas and requests correctly, communicate with me effectively and clearly explaining the building process and possibilities.
Carey was the only builder who wanted to work with existing building materials that were structurally safe to use. Carey explained the process for quotation and gave me options about certain building materials that could be used and design options and how they would alter the quote.
I found the process from meeting to planning and quoting to be straight forward and transparent. The financial officer at Catherall Constructions, Renee, was always available to discuss finances and the paperwork side of the process when I had questions. These elements made me feel confident going into the renovation with this company.
The process of building was an extremely positive experience between Catherall Constructions and my family. The staff Carey chooses to work with him are of the highest standard. The work site was always kept tidy with significant respect shown to my family as we were living in the existing house during construction.
Carey’s ability to problem solve and create working solutions during the building process removed potential stress and expense. Our project came in on budget and the result has been astounding.
The attention to detail, the quality of work is rarely seen in building today. Due to this fact we feel the work that has been completed has added significantly more value to our property. The merging of old to new is seamless and we are so excited by all the lovely comments when people come to our home. People who knew the “before” are astounded by the “after”.
We are thrilled with the outcome. We found a very rare craftsman who takes incredible pride in his work and word.
Finally, the after completion care that we have experienced from Carey and staff at Catherall Constructions has been exemplary.

We were very fortunate to engage Carey Catherall of Catherall Constructions as our builder for our recent home renovation. We were extremely impressed by the quality and professionalism of Carey’s work. He is a true master craftsmen being skilled in carpentry, tiling, painting, landscaping and stone work. The only external tradesmen needed were an electrician and plumber.
Carey approaches each task with forethought and imagination and actually saved us money by suggesting alternative methods/materials which we had not considered, including the use of recycled materials. Nothing is to much trouble for Carey. He is very polite and worked closely with us to achieve our desired outcome. We would have no hesitation in recommending Carey as a builder and only wish we had used him for our previous renovation.
